The Van Soccer Association (VSA) is a Member Association of North Texas State Soccer Association (NTSSA) whose Bylaws and Rules form a standard for our Articles & Rules.  Follow the links on the About Us page for these documents.

 

How much is registration?
The Registration page displays Registration fees during the open Registration period prior to the Draft held before each Season.

When does the season start?
The Association Playing Year shall begin on September 1 and end on August 31 of the following calendar year.  The Membership may divide the Playing Year into as many Playing Seasons as desired.  Check out the Calendar page to find the coming or current Playing Season dates.

How old does my child have to be to play soccer?
The age of a player for purpose of play with VSA shall be the player’s age on December 31 of the current Playing Year. The current Playing Year begins on September 1 and ends August 31 of the following year.

Exception: VSA permits players who turn four (4) years of age by

  • July 31 will be eligible to play in the Fall Playing Season
  • December 31 will be eligible to play in the Spring Playing Season.

When will my child practice?
Coaches communicate with their team to determine practice schedules.

When will my child have games?
The Director of Scheduling/Registrar schedules most games on Saturdays but there can be games on Tuesday or Thursday during the week.  We try to schedule eight (8) games for each team during each Playing Season.

Is my child's uniform included in the registration cost?
No.  Your child's Coach will advise you on the costs of a uniform.  Additionally, your child's team may have a sponsor who is willing to provide a uniform. 

What equipment will my child need?
1.  Shin guards are mandatory

2.  All Players must wear soft-cleated soccer shoes or tennis shoes, which excludes the wearing of hard sole shoes or “baseball” style, metal, or hard pointed plastic cleats.
